Field Trips Help Our Dogs Get Adopted

We make it easy for visitors to adopt off-island. The Field Trip Program is a great way to promote our adoptable shelter dogs. Dogs get adopted not just by the family who took them on a field trip, but by other people who meet them on their field trip, by friends of the field trip participants after they’ve posted on their personal social media, and the list goes on.

If you post on your personal social media, please tag us @kauaihumanesociety on Facebook and Instagram, and @kauaihumane on TikTok.

We adopted Mokihana when we were there on our honeymoon at the end of July. We wanted to share some pictures and let you know how well he is doing as a Revere, Massachusetts boy! He had his first grooming and vet appointments and did well at both; everyone loves his name and our story of bringing him home from Kauai. He loves any toy that squeaks and has already made some doggy friends at our local dog bar. He’s gone from an island boy to a city boy, but he’s adjusting well! We can’t wait for his first time seeing snow!

We also wanted to thank you all for everything that you did to get him to us! We really love him and appreciated that he was treated so well by you all. We’ve been telling everyone about your field trip program so hopefully the word is being spread!
